Ships safety plans are regulated by a legal framework that requires safety information to be constantly up-to-date. IMO and SOLAS regulations provide strict guidance on the icons used in fire control and safety plans. Our plans comply with the following regulations and resolutions:
– SOLAS Chapter II-2, Regulation 15.2.4 regarding the availability and display of the ship’s general arrangement plans and what they should include (structural fire control and prevention measures, location of the firefighting equipment etc.) as well as the languages used on the plans.
– IMO Resolution A.1116(30) regarding escape route signs and equipment location markings
– IMO resolution A.952(23) regarding graphical symbols for shipboard fire control plans (International Standards ISO 17631)
